While it may have taken me over a year to post these custom illustrations I created for my sweet nephew…..what better timing than on the eve of his 1st birthday!

Nursery Elephant Prints

A quick break from family photo sessions for a quick personal blog post.  After celebrating just over one year in our new home….it is fitting to rewind back to the boys room design as it was one of my favorites to decorate.  Prior to moving the boys did not have a room of their own, which made it extra special for our 2 cuties.

We painted the walls gray and decided on light blue and navy blue accents.  The boys each received a cute stuffed animal elephant when they were born and we were inspired to carry that theme throughout the room. 

The one thing we could not find was a print to put on the walls over their beds.  After a ton of research, I decided to illustrate something personal from 'mommy' and made an elephant that characterized each of their personalities. Caleb our jumping bean and Christian calm and happy boy.

And last but not least, the rocking chair my mom had in our house when we were all babies to compete their room! 

Up next, given the boys were 6 months when we moved in our new home….we quickly converted to a baseball room prior to their 1st birthday…..likely a year from now I will share the current sports theme illustrations hanging  up now!  Until next time…..

Valentine's for Kyleigh

Busy, busy weekend.....in the midst of printing 3 different wedding invitations, finished Kyleigh's School Valentine's for her party this week.  Her school has a no sugar no preservative policy, so I just stick clear of food all together.....crayons are more like it. 

Illustrated a cute bee and used my silhouette cutter for the first time to create the heart shapes!  Hope the classmates enjoy:-)

Package Design Aspirations

It's always fun for me to open up my archives from my Art School Portfolio Show and revisit the projects I put together years ago .... especially for one of my favorite classes ~ Package Design!

Beyond the project below (creating a brand, packaging and a marketing plan) I have not had a chance to apply the entire experience to real-life.....well the time has come!  Kyleigh needs a Valentine's Day box to collect her classroom cards for her upcoming party and I can't pass up the opportunity to custom make it.  If you would have asked me 7 years ago what my next package design would be....I don't think I would have said this, but I'll happily take the project on and love every minute designing it with my little girl.

Stay tuned next week for the final product....we shall see if I can still construct a solid package!

 

 

Haley Knight and Princess Party

Happy Birthday to Haley! Gosh I can't believe how time flies....I can't believe 4 years old! Love the theme of the party and was VERY excited to create a princess and knight illustration that matched with the party colors and theme Karen created!

Karen is so creative she came up with cute princess and knight themed stations thorughout her house and had me create the signs to bring everything to life.

Teacher's Christmas Gifts

Kyleigh's pre-school teachers and directors are very special to us and we wanted to be sure to design the perfect gift for them for Christmas!

I found the teacher note pad idea on Etsy.com and decided to custom make them on my own.  Kyleigh and I had so much fun designing and printing and she even helped me pick out the colors for each of her teachers!

Kyleigh and Kennidie Christmas Coloring Books

Everyone in Kyleigh's class loved the custom coloring books (along with a custom illustration as well), that we decided to make them again for Christmas....we also made them for Kennidie's class as well!  Between the 2 of them I made a total of 60 books!

This time around, I purchased a saddle stitch stapler and had a lot of fun with it....I'm sure there will be lots more coloring books in my future.
