krafty~little~kyleigh - canvas fun

I am lucky my daughter shares the same passion I do for design.  Her toys consist of crayons, colored pencils, stamps, stickers, coloring books, construction paper.....the list goes on.  Also, Kyleigh is likely the only 3 year old that uses prismacolors and has several sketch books to her name.  Luckily I saved all of my old art school supplies.

Throughout the year I have been documenting my #craftylittlegirl on Instagram, but I thought it would be fun to create a #kraftylittlekyleigh series on the blog to share with everyone as well as a keepsake for me.  Kyeigh and I were both inspired by #fashionbymayhem (www.fashionbymayhem.com) the other night when were viewing the baseball inspired paper dress.  A mother and a 4 year old daughter collaborating on various special projects, the time they spend together is what makes it special....just like Kyleigh and I. Kyleigh even asked if we could attempt to make a paper dress (or 100).  I'm not sure if I'm ready to go down that path yet, but we do have the resources....that's for sure!

Most recently Kyleigh has been gravitating towards ribbon, envelopes and hole punchers in addition to the basic coloring books and crayons.  But I thought I would start this series with a look back on some past projects, why not...right?  It is throwback Thursday, so here is Kyleigh @ 17 months.  Before we moved into or new home, we would move kitchen table, and have some fun finger painting on the ground.  This specific canvas was designed by Kyleigh and to this day I've saved to be the first painting to hang in  my new studio {once we get to that point}.  Also, interestingly enough, I wanted to be sure to buy more than one canvas at the exact same size and my thought was to have Kyleigh complete one every year....or if I had more kids have them create a design at the same age.  Oddly enough I have two more and 2 boys that are 14 months.  Looks like Kyleigh will be coaching them along to create art pieces in 3 months as well, can't wait!
